Planting Empowerment offers investments in sustainable timber production. As the managing entity, Planting Empowerment plants, maintains, and periodically harvests the trees, and sells the resulting high-quality tropical hardwood. Our three investment options all include the following benefits:  

• Up to a 10% return annually over the 25-year life span of the investment, in a non-correlated investment to US financial markets. 
• A social return on investment through profit sharing and forestry training for poor rural Panamanians.  
• The chance to offset your carbon footprint or sell credits for the carbon sequestered by your trees. One hectare of trees sequesters roughly six tons of carbon yearly--the amount of carbon produced yearly by the average American.  
• Each hectare of investment conserves 2.5 hectares of primary forest in an area designated by Conservation International as one of the world’s few remaining "Biodiversity Hot-spots".  

The Forest Savings Bond 
For a $100 investment in the Forest Savings Bond, you can save for the future while saving Panama’s rainforest. Your investment covers the cost of your trees and their maintenance and periodic harvesting, the protection of a piece of primary forest, and a portion of the lease PE pays to partnering subsistence farmers. We keep you updated on your growing trees, the amount of carbon offset, and the local farmer you are helping. 
 
The Forest Investment 
Our signature product offers investors the greater returns and benefits that come from investing in larger forestry projects. The $7000 minimum investment purchases ½ hectare of hardwood trees, and their care and harvesting over the 25-year investment cycle. As with the Forest Savings Bond, part of your investment goes toward paying a poor subsistence farmer his monthly lease payment, which helps him feed his family and offers him an incentive to conserve surrounding rainforest.
